HEARTS

Life is wonderful for newlyweds John and Evelyn. They both have great jobs, great family and friends. Until one night John dreams that Evelyn is cheating on him with his best friend, Patrick. At first just frustrated, John chooses to ignore his dream. But with each passing day the images of infidelity become more vivid. Every element of his daily life slowly begins to drift into paranoia. Now each conversation Patrick and Evelyn have, each friendly touch, makes John's head rumble with suspicion.  John quickly deteriorates into a crumbling mass of paranoid delusion. Building to an emotional climax, the elements of the dream and real life converge into a frantic and shocking ending.

Hearts is the first installment of a four part short film series called The Loaded Deck. The other three parts (Diamonds, Clubs and Spades) will be produced over the next several years and will tie together elements of plot, characters and locations among the four stories. Each story, however, will stand on its own as a short film. When all four stories are finished they will be edited and marketed as one feature-length film. Producer BobWalters says "I've always liked the idea of anthology film making even though you don"t see it much anymore. I especially enjoy the way separate stories are connected with an object, an event, or a character. We're definitely going to do that here."
